Running a business is a tough job, almost as tough as being a parent. Working long hours for little return in the early months can get a bit disheartening, but I don’t need to tell you that right? So why do I do it?
Despite the long hours, I love what I do. You’re probably thinking ‘there must be an easier way to make some money’ and you are probably right. It’s not about the money though (not entirely anyway).
It’s more about a love of the English language and the pleasure of helping other people to be the best that they can be.
My love of English started at a young age. I have always loved reading and not just for the escapism of a good story line. I have always enjoyed the way authors put words together in the various ways that they write.
When it comes to being a freelance writer, the pleasure comes from seeing the fruits of my toiling out there for the world to see as well as knowing that I am helping people. I don’t just mean that I am helping the client, it goes beyond that.
Once the content is on the website it continues to help people to find a service, gives information or advice or simply entertains people.
I love the fact that my work can make a difference to the lives of so many people in so many ways.
This is what keeps me at my keyboard.
What is it that keeps you going with your business?
